Every aspect of offshore engineering
From the onshore substation to and including the offshore substation and wind farm, our expertise covers every aspect involved in transmitting electricity from offshore turbines to the onshore grid. Thus, we can offer a full scope of engineering services, ranging from conceptual studies through front-end engineering and design (FEED), basic design, detailed design to procurement, construction, installation, operation and maintenance.
With more than 30 years of experience working in the offshore energy sector, we understand the challenges involved in operating in a harsh offshore environment. Moreover, when you are a long way from shore, you need reliable solutions you can count on.
Based on the vast in-house knowledge and experience of our engineering teams and external partners we can offer as an example the following key topics as part of a FEED:
Onshore substation
Complete civil, mechanical and electrical design and layout including landfall cables/transmission lines
Offshore substation
Complete offshore substation topside design covering all electrical and mechanical systems and all structural elements complying with requirements. Geotechnical design and design of piles, the substructure and foundations.
Subsea cables
Electrical cable design, determination of the ideal voltage levels and optimal export and array cable layout.
Balance of Plant
Covering such topics as the overall wind farm single line diagram, the redundancy philosophy, preliminary grid study analysis to ensure grid compliance, overall SCADA architecture, a high-level protection philosophy and an operational philosophy to mention but a few.
Generic
Covering such topics as CAPEX and OPEX optimization, the project schedule, design parameters based on our experience and the local environment, employer’s technical requirements, tender package documentation and conceptual reports to mention but a few.
